Blade & Soul
What's Planned for H1Z1 on PS4

Blade & SoulH1Z1 just launched on PS4 and it's currently one of the most played battle royale games on this platform. It launched in open beta which means there is still some time before the game reaches the final stage. The open beta launch went pretty smoothly but developers know there is room for improvements and new features. Here are some of the features that will be added to the game. There is no release date yet but they are described as “near-term features” so we think we will see them into the game pretty soon.
It looks like there is an issue with frame rates when players join a game as a team. There were closed beta updates to improve the frame rate but more are expected to come during open beta. The team is looking for a solution that will take care of the issues on PS4 and PS4 Pro as well. One of the features that are lacking from the PS4 version is the revive mechanic. PC users that play in a team of two or five can revive their dead teammates. This is an important team mechanic and the lack of it might discourage new players from teaming up. A reworked version of this feature is on developers to-do list. Controller responsiveness is another feature that needs some tuning. Those who played in closed beta reported that character controls don't feel too responsive when using the joystick. The solution is to switch from linear acceleration to non-linear. Another feedback received from beta sessions was about grenades. Once again, there seems to be a responsiveness issue when throwing grenades. A solution should come before the full game launch. Two more features regarding grenades are on their way. The EMP grenade will allow players to render vehicles inoperable for a while. AOE damage will be possible with the new air strike grenade. Other features that are planned are more controller layouts and swap weapon slots. Players will be able to choose between multiple controller presets and to equip a weapon in a slot they want.
